Description
Believed to have been used in rituals and spiritual practices in Tibet for centuries, Tibetan Singing Bowls produce clear, resonant sounds. The calming, meditative quality of the sound means that they’re often used as part of sound baths, yoga practices and by music therapists and sound healers to support stress release and deep relaxation.
Every one of our Tibetan Singing Bowls is unique. Hand-beaten, rich in colour, each Tibetan Singing Bowl is made by hand.
While the origins of Tibetan Singing Bowls is still a matter of debate, many historians believe metal artisans perfected the art of making singing bowls about 2500 years ago. Although there’s little written evidence of Tibetan Singing Bowls from this time, oral myths and stories suggest the bowls were brought to Tibet from India when Buddhism was introduced to the region by the Buddhist Vajra master, Padmasambhava, in the 8th century AD
Our Tibetan Singing Bowls are available in various weights, ranging from 250g to 2.9kg. Heavier Singing Bowls – from 8kg to 22kg – are also available by special order on request. Different weights produce different sounds: lighter bowls produce higher tones, while heavier bowls produce deeper tones, with richer and more complex sounds because they can sustain vibrations longer.

All you need to know about Tibetan Singing Bowls
Tibetan Singing Bowl?
Our Tibetan Singing Bowls are made of hand-beaten brass. To form the bowl, the brass is heated, shaped and hand-hammered by skilled craftspeople. Tibetan Singing Bowls are tuned through gentle hammering until the desired sound is produced.
How do I play a Tibetan Singing Bowl?
There are two ways to make a Tibetan Singing Bowl “sing”. You can either strike the side of the bowl or rub its rim with a wooden or padded resonant mallet. Gently circle the resonant mallet around the rim, applying consistent pressure. Experiment with speed and pressure to find the right combination to obtain the best sound. Some people fill their Tibetan Singing Bowls with water to create ripples and a unique sound when played.
How do I care for my Tibetan Singing Bowl?
Be careful when playing, moving and storing your Tibetan Singing Bowl, as dropping or knocking it could affect the sound quality. If you need to clean your Tibetan Singing Bowl, wipe it down with a soft cloth – don’t use harsh chemicals or scrubbers, as they could tarnish the brass.
Who are Tibetan Singing Bowls designed for?
Although they originate in Asia, today, people around the world benefit from the peaceful, resonant sounds of Tibetan Sound Bowls. They’re often used for meditation or as part of a sound bath or yoga practice, but they also make a wonderful addition to the home for relaxation and stress release.
